Sounds like a different language, right? Or a serious illness maybe? Let’s define this strange condition.

Vulvodynia: chronic vulvar pain with no real cause

Still confused? Symptoms of this condition typically include pain and irritation around the vulva, itching, rawness, burning and painful sex which yes, I know these are the same symptoms of literally anything that can be wrong with your vagina. But if you get your annual pap and even a transvaginal ultrasound (which I HIGHLY recommend) and everything is fine but you still have pain, you might be experiencing this.

A gal with Vulvodynia might be extremely uncomfortable having sex or even just sitting down for long periods of time. While this condition is not fatal at all, it is still a mystery to the medical field. Unfortunately, besides taking some probiotics, topical creams and adjusting your fem hygiene, there are no real treatments for this condition and it can last anywhere between a few months to several years. While this is a bit of confusion around this condition, some research suggests that this discomfort may be a result of a sexual injury or an aggravated nerve.

If you might be experiencing these symptoms and have gone to several doctors to figure out your pain, there is a good chance vulvodynia might be the culprit.
