I’m really sick of girls on YouTube talking about “If you eat fish, your pussy will smell like fish.” PSA: THIS IS FAKE NEWS! The odor that comes from your vagina is not entirely affected by what you eat. Yes, if you eat candy all day long and have a diet chock full of dairy, you might smell a little funky down there. But ya can’t tell me that salmon over a bed of greens is going to fuck me over.
Firstly, each woman’s odor is completely different and some odors are normal and some are not (which we discussed here). Your vagina can smell based on several factors so let’s take a deep dive into pussy smells.
You are what you eat to an extent
A clean diet is definitely essential to smell pleasant down under. Just like every other organ in your body, the vagina responds well to a rainbow of fruits and vegetables as well as a balanced diet of healthy fats, complex carbs and proteins. Eating lots of sugar, refined carbs and fried tingz may not suit you so well but one single slice of pizza is not going to make a difference in how you smell just like how eating pineapple will not make you smell or taste like it.
Don’t get your panties in a bunch- literally
Wearing excessively tight underwear and pants (super skinny jeans from 2008 we’re looking at you) might cause some foul odors. The moral of the story is here you gotta let your cookies breathe! Air it out, sit like a guy idk, make sure your underwear is actually your size. The silver lining is that the 90s are here to stay so the baggier the jeans the better. Sometimes tight pants are a LEWK so don’t go cleaning out your closet yet, just be mindful of the repercussions of wearing tight clothing everyday.
Guzzle down that water
As you already know, water is everything. Flush out any toxins and funky smells by drinking tons of water daily. Drinking water and avoiding drinks with added sugar will encourage the release of fluids and healthy shvitzing. As you flood your system with water, choke down some probiotics to help level out your pH- I really like this one. Now don’t go drinking your weight in water, just make sure you aren’t going through the day dehydrated.
Don’t be a dirty hoe
Stop wasting your money on Summer’s Eve and other brands that claim to balance your pH and neutralize odor. When showering, use a neutral body wash like Dove (the original/plain scent) and make sure you’re tending to every nook and cranny- yes the clit counts. You only want to avoid your actual vagina so run some water through it and when you get out the shower, dry that shit thoroughly!
