Ways to Protect Our Reproductive Rights

Is it just me or does it feel like The Handmaid’s Tale is unfolding in real life? It’s terrifying to think our right to safe and legal abortion can be taken away from us- it feels like we’re going backwards. The effects of this overturn could make abortion illegal for at least 36 million people across the country. This is even more of a travesty for for lower income people of color living in the 26 states that are to ban abortion if Dobbs is successful. Now more than ever, it’s imperative that we make sure our voices are heard.

Here are some ways we can help to prevent this nightmare from becoming a reality:

  1. Volunteer at your local abortion clinic

Helping at the local level can still make a huge difference. Clinics across the nation need volunteers to be parent liaisons, work the tables at events and for outreach purposes. Simply Google clinics in your area and you’ll find several ways to volunteer.

  2. Donate!

Donating to abortion access funds is one of the easiest ways to get involved if you are financially capable. You can help support clinics and ensure women get the care and attention they need. There are many organizations you can donate to but here are a few options:

  3. Protest

Take it to the streets and join the #BansOffOurBodies Movement.

At this very moment, abortion is still legal and we have the chance to take a stand and fight for our rights!
