How to flirt with confidence
I don’t know about y’all, but all this time in quarantine has made me a little nervous to eventually get back out there and start dating. Here’s a little crash course on flirting with that confidence and making sure you still got it!
Fuck tryna be cute
If you’re one of those girls that just kinda sits back and laughs at every little thing that comes out of a guy’s/girl’s mouth, STOP. I know, sometimes your nervous/awkward and don’t know what to say or do so you just laugh. But don’t laugh just to laugh! Talk to them like a friend and be as real as possible.
Don’t be afraid to ask questions
You’re not here to please your date. This is your chance to get to know them and determine if there will be another date. Try not to shy away from asking any question you genuinely want to know. Go below the surface instead of asking those generic questions (do you like cheese?). Be honest like Jorja Smith and hopefully you will get that in return.
Cool as a cucumber
Try not to be so eager to start every conversation or to make every joke. Flow with it and let them come to you. You are not there to entertain anyone so try taking the pressure off yourself.
Don’t look down
Keep your eye on the prize! Making eye contact shows confidence and also interest. If you’re not used to this, it might feel a little awkward but don’t think about it too much. We’re not looking for bedroom eyes, just a normal gaze to let them know they’ve got your attention.
Get your freakum dress on
Don’t go in there wearing something you don’t feel comfortable in. If you’re not the type of person to wear heels ever, don’t make the first date your time to try it out. When you’re uncomfortable and feeling awkward, it shows. Choose an outfit that makes you feel sexy.
You got nothing to lose
Being nervous and overthinking everything you say can only hurt you. Sometimes we’re so focused on making the best impression and it gets in the way of who we truly are. Conversation will come naturally and as long as you’re relaxed, your true personality will shine through. All you can do is be you and if it doesn’t work out, that’s not on you!
